Caroline Frankil Warren

Executive Director
 
Ms. Warren brings an extensive background in non-profit management, arts management and marketing to BalletNova Center for Dance. An experienced arts administrator, Ms. Warren worked as Director of Membership for the Corcoran Gallery of Art where she founded the young professional group, the 1869 Society. As Director of Marketing and Education with the Fairfax Symphony, she directed all marketing, public relations, advertising and publications from planning to implementation as well as managing the arts-in-education program, "Overture to Orchestra."

 As Administrative Director for the Delta Festival Ballet of New Orleans, Ms. Warren managed the professional ballet company (with an extensive touring and performance schedule); directed marketing, development and public relations efforts; expanded and reorganized the board of directors; and coordinated and marketed local and regional tours.

She focused on membership marketing for the 14,000 member Construction Specifications Institute where she developed a comprehensive membership marketing strategy and was instrumental in leadership training development. Prior to that, Ms. Warren served as Associate Director of Membership for the American Association of University Women, managing all membership marketing for the association of 150,000 members. 

Ms. Warren brings a dance background to her position as BalletNova Center for Dance Executive Director.  After professional ballet training with Pennsylvania Ballet (on a Ford Foundation scholarship), Joffrey Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet and a B.S. from Skidmore College, she moved to New Orleans and danced with the Delta Festival Ballet. A faculty member of the Arlington Center for Dance since 2003, Ms. Warren also co-choreographed the full-length The Nutcracker production with Artistic Director Nancie Woods.

Ms. Warren has consulted for several local for-profit businesses including Morgan & Cheves Insurance, The Maid Brigade, and the Community Marketplace Development Institute. She has also served on grants review panels for the Alexandria Arts Commission, Mid-Atlantic Arts Council, and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.

 

Administrative Staff:

Karinn Cologne
Senior Operations Manager

Ms. Cologne  holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Sociology from Boston College.  She worked as the Programming Manager for the 3-day Boston College Arts Festival for Performing, Visual and Literary Arts.  While in Massachusetts, Ms. Cologne also interned at the Boston Ballet’s Summer Dance Program.  After moving to the DC area, Ms. Cologne was involved in the intern program at The Kennedy Center, where she was the programming intern, house manager and stage manager for the Millennium Stage.  Ms. Cologne held the position of Associate Director for the Washington National Opera’s Intern/Apprentice program as well as their Human Resources Manager.  Before joining BalletNova, she worked for the Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy of Classical Acting as Assistant Stage Manager.  Ms. Cologne has been involved with the arts on and off stage since growing up just outside Los Angeles with dance, musical and theater performances.  Most recently, Ms. Cologne has been stage managing and producing with local community theaters on such shows including: Pirates of Penzance, Fiddler on the Roof, Noises Off, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Seagull, and The Producers, with The Arlington Players. As Senior Operations Manager, she is responsible for bookkeeping, database issues and reporting, fundraising, events, performances and marketing.  She also works as the Production Manager / Stage Manager for BalletNova's Nutcracker, Spring Show, and other performances.

Deko Ruch
Registration and Front Desk Manager

Deko Ruch was born, raised and educated in Tokyo, Japan.  As a child she took piano lessons and is now married with three dancing daughters.  Mrs. Ruch has been on the part-time desk staff since 2008.  Prior to this, Deko was a Freelance English / Japanese translator for Nippon Business Translations and the Office Manager at Classical Ballet Academy in Herndon.  Her position is responsible for all registrations and payments, all facility management and scheduling, front desk management, box office management, volunteer coordinating and assisting with other events.
